[DEMO] Buying a rack DAC cable: specify length and compatibility

MikroTik lists XS+DA0001 as a one-metre cable and XS+DA0003 as a three-metre cable, both for 1G, 10G and 25G links. These ratings do not guarantee compatibility with every port from every vendor.

Specify each endpoint and port number. Choose length using the actual rack route rather than the straight-line distance between devices. Before ordering, check cable compatibility and the common link speed against the equipment documentation.

At acceptance, match the cable model and length to the order, test the intended ports and record the result. If the expected speed is not established, review the port model, configuration and cable compatibility. A link light alone is not a complete acceptance check.
